Residential Air Source Heat Pump Rebate Application
The following form must be completed by the contractor.
Rebate pre-approval is required prior to the installation. After pre-approval, rebate funds will be reserved for your project for six (6) months.

Eligible Residence Types
- Existing Site Built Homes (up to 4-plex)
- Existing Manufactured Homes
Minimum Installation Requirements
- Available to homes with whole-home centrally ducted systems with electric forced air furnaces.
- Existing heat pumps are NOT eligible for this rebate.
- The New Heat Pump must have minimum ratings of 9.0 HSPF and 14 SEER.
- Equipment must be tested and certified by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI); manufacturer claims of “equivalent to AHRI certified equipment” will not be accepted.
- The New Heat Pump must be installed according to the current Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS) standards by a PTCS Certified Installer.
- Installations must be entered and accepted into the PTCS online site registry.
- Air Source Heat Pumps are subject to quality assurance inspection by a BPA qualified inspector.
- PTCS Commissions & Controls is a stand-alone measure and cannot be combined with this rebate.
Rebate Amount
Variable Speed: $1,600 *
Non-Variable Speed: $1,400
* Outdoor compressor must be variable speed or inverter-driven and must appear on BPA’s variable speed heat pump reference list.

Air-Source Heat Pump Upgrade applies to the following situations:
- Replacing an existing Air-Source Heat Pump. For homes with existing Ground Source Heat Pumps, see the separate rebate.
- Installing an ASHP in single-family new construction.
- Installing an ASHP in an existing single-family or existing manufactured home without any previously existing primary heating system.
- Adding a heat pump to a nonelectric heating system (e.g., gas, oil, propane, or wood).
- Upgrading from zonal (including zonal hydronic systems that do not utilize a duct system for distribution) to ASHP.
- Replacing a ductless mini-split heat pump.
- Replacing a PTCS ASHP that is no longer functioning with a new PTCS-certified heat pump.

$300
Please allow 8 to 10 weeks after receipt of all required documentation for rebate checks to be issued and mailed.
