Must be an electric air-to-air source heat pump (ASHP). Equipment must be new, tested and certified by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). Rebate cannot be used for retrofitting packaged terminal air conditioning (PTAC) units.

Retrofits only, for for replacement of uncontrolled equipment. New units must have controller with settings that reduce the anti-sweat heater run time by at least 50% and includes any heating element in a door rail, glass and/or frame.

Rebate: $40 per linear foot of case. Uncontrolled equipment being replaced must use greater than .39 amps/ft of case.

Cooler

Rebate: $40 per linear foot of case. Uncontrolled equipment being replaced must use greater than .20 amps/ft of case.

The New Heat Pump must be installed according to the current Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS) standards by a PTCS and International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) Certified Installer.
Newly commissioned and installed according to the IGSHPA specifications as well as the Bonneville Power Administration’s (BPA) ground source heat pump specifications available here for closed-loop systems and here for open-loop systems.
Eligible installations must be entered and accepted into the PTCS online site registry, found here.
All system components must be new and recently installed. The replacement of an existing ground source heat pump thermal exchange loop does not qualify for a rebate.
Only one Ground Source Heat Pump rebate per home.
Ground Source Heat Pumps are subject to quality assurance inspection by a BPA qualified inspector.

Limit one (1) rebate per residential site.

Self-installation by Homeowner: $250

For homes with electrical service that is ready for you to plug the new charger into an existing 240-volt outlet.

Hardwired Installation by Electrician: $500

For homes that need upgrade work performed by a licensed electrician to install the charger. Your project must receive a final approved building inspector permit to qualify for the rebate.

New Heat Pump Conversion from Electric Forced Air Furnace

Site-built New Construction and Multifamily homes are not eligible.

Qualifications

Existing Single Family home with 4 units or less.
Electric Forced-Air Furnace was the previous heat source.
New heat pump is the home’s first.
Efficiency is 7.6 HSPF2 and 13.4 SEER2 or higher, or minimum 9.0 HSPF and 14 SEER for units manufactured before 2023.
Application must include the certificate or reference number from AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute).

Requirements

The rebate applicant must be the utility account holder for the site.
Level 2 Charger must have UL or ETL certification.
Charger must be designed strictly for pedestal or wall-mounted stations to be placed on the site. Portable chargers do not qualify.
Charging stations with multiple ports (or plugs) are considered one unit, to receive one rebate.
Chargers cannot be used, resold, rebuilt, or received from warranty insurance claims.
