REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for residential Ductless Heat Pump (DHP) retrofit rebate, project must be installed by licensed, bonded, insured HVAC contractor with current CCB number.

Self-installation is not eligible. Site built new construction homes are not eligible.

Primary existing heat system must be electric resistance heating. New DHP must have HSPF 9.0 or greater. HSPF2 equivalent: 7.6 or greater.

Before installation: Submit complete application for pre-approval. After installation: Submit final invoice(s) and installation date.

Limit one DHP rebate per home and one rebate per utility account.

Applications due within six (6) months of purchase.

Terms and Conditions

SYSTEM ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the incentive payment, ductless heat pumps installed must be: a split system heat pump employing an inverter-driven, variable-speed compressor, a variable speed outdoor fan, and a multi-speed or variable speed indoor blower. The system must meet a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) requirement of a minimum of 9.0.
SAFETY AND BUILDING CODES: The Participant agrees to pursue compliance with federal, state, and local building and environmental codes for the installation of this product. The contractor certifies products have been installed consistent with manufacturer instructions.
PROPERTY RIGHTS: The Participant must have the proper authority to install the ductless heat pump system on the designated property or have obtained any necessary consent from the landlord.
