For qualifying residential installations of new electric, centrally-ducted Air Source Heat Pumps.
The complete Heat Pump installation must be performed by a licensed contractor. Self-installed projects do not qualify.
Conditions and rebate amounts
New Heat Pump Conversion from Electric Forced Air Furnace
Site-built New Construction and Multifamily homes are not eligible.
Qualifications
- Existing Single Family home with 4 units or less.
- Electric Forced-Air Furnace was the previous heat source.
- New heat pump is the home’s first.
- Efficiency is 7.6 HSPF2 and 13.4 SEER2 or higher, or minimum 9.0 HSPF and 14 SEER for units manufactured before 2023.
- Application must include the certificate or reference number from AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute).
Rebates
Non-variable speed: $700
Variable speed: $840
For the variable speed rebate, the outdoor compressor unit model must be shown on the variable speed reference list.
Limit one Heat Pump-Electric Furnace Conversion rebate per home and one per OTEC account.
Homes with more than 4,500 sq. ft. of heated floor area may qualify for two heat pump rebates.
New Heat Pump Upgrade
All Single Family homes (4 units or less) are eligible, existing or new construction.
Any previous heat source is allowed.
No minimum efficiency ratings required.
Limit one Heat Pump Upgrade rebate per home and one per OTEC account.
Homes with more than 4,500 sq. ft. of heated floor area may qualify for two heat pump rebates.
Rebate: $140
Buy Local: Adds $50 to your rebate.
